Does any one know what size die is used to thead the end of the mandrel that screws into the mt head stock side? I'm using the small Shop Fox and the outside of the spindle runs true but the mt receiver is not machined straight, so I changed the headstock spindle and the new one is same story- it's not true either. but if I use the Shop Smith attachement and the precision mandrel it runs true so I'm trying to make a 60 Deg. center for that and need to make threads to screw in the adapter that I make.

your best bet would be to take your extra spindle to a machine shop and have them correct your MT.
Thank you Wayno. That would be a good thing to do how ever for the time being I found the die it's a 1/4-28. Here is what I came up with for now till I get that extra spindle taken care of. Sorry about the cell phone pic but it's just an idea instead of a pen.
