I see that Turners Warehouse has tubes for Jr. series pens that are already painted/colored in colors other than white. I've definitely noticed that the thinner wall on the cap barrel will show up lighter with a lighter color paint when I use resin blanks that are not completely translucent. For what it's worth, it seems that black paint produces the most consistent color between the body and cap barrels. Painting both the blanks and tubes is the safest bet, but I at least shouldn't have to worry about the paint scraping off the pre-colored tubes. Has anyone used these that can share their experience with the finished product?

I paint all my tubes myself with spray paint. I always let them cure 24 hours before using them and never had a problem. I glue the tubes in with 2 part epoxy. As for casting, if I'm leaving the paint exposed in clear resin, I use high temp paint from the automotive store.
