If you remember a few weeks ago I requested prayers for my good friend Paul who was going in for brain surgery as his brain was filling up with fluid.. He did ok with that surgery but it didnt take. He had to go back in 2 days ago for a second major surgery and unfortunately it too didnt take. They have to go back in as soon as possibly now to put in a shunt which has I high infection rate to save him. He currently has an infection in his brain that has to heal before they could put in the shunt. Its not looking good for him.

We all have that one friend who would jump in front of a bullet for us, well this is one of mine. This kid never bothered anyone, makes everyone around him laugh and would do anything to help.

Paul is a UMass graduate, a member of a pipe fitters union and a brother Freemason.

Sorry about the rant, just a sad time and im not sure if im ready to lose another friend at such a young age.. Paul is only 33 years old and hasnt fully lived yet.

Thanks in advance for the prayers and for letting me speak (type) on it.

You will have my prayers for your friend his family and you.
I will also include it on my local churches prayer list.
My first prayer is for God to bring hope, faith and trust to rely on his strength.
As the great physician "Nothing" is impossible. Grant peace and understanding that God is good and that his will be done. I will send your prayer request directly to my church family now. Prayer works

I encourage all IAP members that read this thread to lift up
Our friend & family along with the friend and his family.
Please send an encouraging thought
Or a quick note to let them know they can count on your prayers.
The power of prayer works – We sometimes have difficulty understanding God's Will
But we all know it is perfect.

Let this be the longest thread known and take a moment to reply
if only to say
"I am praying for you "

I know this feeling oh so well. At Christmastime I had one of my best friends for over 35 years now diagnosed with inoperable pancreatic cancer... He is just 56 years of age and given till about Easter. He lives two states away and it is really hard not being able to go see him. Somehow a telephone just doesn't do it!

It is good you are there for him. Good luck my friend! Many Prayers are headed your way Paul!

Thanks everyone for the prayers. Heres an update:

The surgery didnt take so they decided that a shunt is going to be his only chance. The shunt has a 60+% chance of cause major infections. Unfortunately they coudnt do it due to a bad infection they found in his brain when they opened him up. They left it open so they could go right in when the infection subsided. They took him into the OR Monday night to see where they were at and hopefully put in the shunt.

I havent heard anything beyond this but I will keep you all informed as I find out.

Thanks Again
Brian

Brian - I can relate all to well with you at this moment. Unfortunately I lost a good friend Monday, at way too early of an age.

I will keep you and your friend in my thoughts.
