Please say a prayer for my parents. Dad had a significant stroke Saturday night, quick response and surgery reduced the damage. We are waiting to find out what he is faced with. Mom has slept very little. She is not strong enough to be a major caregiver.

Thanks

Lord of Heaven,
I rest underneath your mighty wings of love.
I dwell within your gentle heart.
I know there is healing in your touch.
Through the sufferings of Christ I can ask for restoration
And trust in your goodness.
You are my Lord, my Saviour,
My healer and my friend.
I dwell within your gentle embrace.
Amen.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. Dad had a good day and shown how much of a fighter he is. No sign of quit. I am proud of him. However, he has a very very long way to go.

Thanks,

Cody

That is encouraging Cody! The first few days are important. I just got back from taking my 84 yr old Mom to the "Pain Management" Dr who very bluntly said... "Assisted Living." She is not a happy camper. Keep us posted on your Dad's issues, its is a small comfort to know that others are dealing with similar issues.

PM me if you ever wish.

Mark

(yes, IAP is a bit more than pens).

Hi Cody,

Sorry to hear about your Dad's situation, I hope he comes out of this event, with minor problems, is never easy to predict how each one of us will do, after such health event.

I will keep my fighter thoughts for him...!

Cheers
George

Quick update, Dad continues to grow stronger day by day, he is starting to regain some function in some of his paralyzed areas. He can definitely pucker up and give his granddaughters kisses. He has a lot of night time confusion and night duty is pretty rough. I have been in the dog house with him because he expects me to be his accomplish in escaping the bed but have betrayed him by making sure he stays there. Much better last night and he was not as mad at me this morning. I am a little confused myself right now due a lack sleep so I apologize for this message if it's a little incoherent. Your thoughts and prayers are certainly helping, so I wanted to thank you once again.

The Power of Prayer

Dad continues to improve. He was moved to a high intensity rehab center on Friday where we met the Physcian's Assist attending him. She has been involved in his case from the very beginning and told us that getting helicopter transport as quickly as they did and having a surgical team available during the wee hours on a Sunday was unheard of. She also told us that she was very surprised that he was placed in this facility given his age and condition. She is very invested in Dad and several of the nurses have become smitten with him. Despite losing his speech he still manages to communicate through facial expressions and body language. His sense of humor is a hit with all the ladies. I spent the last 2 nights with him since he is still experiencing night time confusion. He did not seem confused last night and much improved. I woke up from a nap in the car (my wife was driving) and while thinking that God is definitely looking after Dad, I opened my eyes to see beautiful green mountains, a clear blue sky and incredible fluffy white clouds. It was an uplifting moment to say the least.
