We sure could use some prayers. My wife and oldest son are heading out to Mayo Clinic in MN Sunday for 3 1/2 week treatment for my son. It's killing me that I can't go, but someone's got to work and take care of the other two at home.

We are praying that a) they get out of Jersey before the hurricane hits, and b) the treatment takes him the next step on the road to recovery. He's an amazing kid and an inspiration to me. Got into penturning with my younger son as a kind of therapy for him 2 years ago as he watched his older brother get sick (although I have to say it's been just as therapeutic for me as well). Thanks for reading.

Lord, You invite all who are burdened to come to you. Allow Your healing Hand to heal me. Touch my soul with Your compassion for others; touch my heart with Your courage and infinite Love for all; touch my mind with Your Wisdom, and may my mouth always proclaim Your praise. Teach me to reach out to You in all my needs, and help me to lead others to You by my example.
Most loving Heart of Jesus, bring me health in body and spirit that I may serve You with all my strength. Touch gently this life which you have created, now and forever.

My thoughts and prayers are with you from a parent who has lost a young one to cancer. I always told,my,kids I would go first. But the heavenly boss makes these choices. You all will be in our daily thoughts and prayers.
 
Thanks all for prayers. Can't beat the power of prayer. Wife and son got out before the storm and started treatment program this morning. All is going well. Hopefully they'll be home for Thanksgiving (which will make it even more special this year).
