Powermatic 3520b

I had setup an auto alert a few years ago on camelcamelcamel.com to watch amazon for a price drop down to around $3400 and yesterday it informs me it's now selling for that apparently with a 15% off manufacture sale going on. Now what do I do . That is a very good price on this unit. I am thinking a local purchase at woodcraft on this piece. How are other owners liking these for pen turning and small stuff outside of spinning logs into bowls?

I love my powermatic. I have the A model. Whatever Amazon tells you... shipping is NOT free on something that heavy. At least the experience I had prior to my powermatic, started with "shipping is free" and ended with "what do you mean, free shipping?"

Anyhow - a great machine. I found a used A model for $2000. I have never missed the digital readout and I bought the power switch extension and followed their instructions for a simple install.

I have the 3520B and I LOVE IT! Power, accuracy, and a great speed control. I call mine a Cadillac of lathes.
