Not sure if anyone has an intrest in this, but I would like to buy a PC set up and offer up PC if someone has a need for a couple things. My "plan" is to be able to do enough here and there to pay for the stuff. I am sure there are some people who want something small done here and there (bike crowd maybe)

I had asked one before if anyone had a set up that was interested in PC a couple small parts on my lathe in clear (polished alloy) and no one was really interested in it. Anyway, I am just feeling this one out a bit and wanted to see if anyone might be interested in having someone who could do this? I am not positive if I want to do pen kits yet, but maybe other stuff like an aluminium pen body to be clear coated.. I may do pen kits later, I am sure I will in fact, but there is a lot that can go wrong from me to you and fit and all that that kind of stuff could be a hassle.

Input of any kind would be great. ;)

I just got my system up about a month ago but I remember your post. Having a oven big enough to do parts is going to be costly. You can't fit much into a toaster oven. Next you will have to carry several colors on hand which is going to be another investment. I spent about $300.00 in my outfit.
The only way it's going to pay for itself is my personal use.

Don't trip and drop the parts from the spray booth to the oven. I've heard that the sudden stop from the fall will knock all of the powder off of the part and then it must be coated again. [:D][8D][:o)]

If you have 220 in your shop and the room, an electric oven can be purchased at garage sales very cheaply. The burners don't need to work, just the oven bake element. Just a thought. A buddy of mine uses one for doing larger parts. All I do is rifle cartridges.

Do a good turn daily!

Well, I don't have 220v in the shop, I could.. but I don't have the room. My thought was a used oven with a vent outside in my cellar. I have 220v for my compressor and I could add a plug to that line and just plug in one or the other. I would look for a larger toster oven for the shop though. Both of these can be had free if you have a bit of time to look around, I see them all the time on craigslist so that is little issue. I would probably stay with black, clear and silver as "stock colors" and if someone wanted a custom color then a surcharge would be applied to cover the powder. It's $9.00 for 8oz or $25 for 2lbs (and so on) I am not sure how much 2lbs would cover, but a $25.00 charge for a custom color is not un-reasonable.

Again, it's a pick & choose deal. If I can fit the part... Good, if they pay what I want... Good. If they don't, I am not out money. I don't plan to make huge profits on it as a business venture, but I think it would be easy enough to pay for the stuff with a few jobs.
