Don't get me wrong here... the only thing I dislike about this pen is the ugly PCA logo!

I've never liked it. Now the Porsche badge would have made this fine pen look stellar. I think I shall make one for myself!

Just went (10/26/2010) to PSi to see what the Olympian cost. They have a sale going on right now. Get 2 Olympian Elite 2 pen kits, bushings, and drill bits for $19.95.

Just FYI.

Yes I am the one making them. The requirement for the project was the PCA logo. Could not change that. And yes it is a PSI Kit. As far as profit. My shop is a business. There is not as much profit in it as you think. The case is American Made. The custom finial and carbon fiber are made by CaptianG. My position is to keep as many American small businesses with busy as possible. Yes the nib comes from Lou.

I about month I will be doing pens for Porsche. The center band will be changing in the future and I finalized my design. Now just to have it machined. I am wait for the CNC lathe and mill to coming in next year.

The pens were introduced at the 2010 Porsche Parade in Chicago and had a chance to set down with Dr. Porsche to discuss future business with Porsche.

If you have any question please email me.

Thanks

Alan

Alan, what a pity they required you to put that awful logo on your beautiful pens! That logo must have been designed in the 40's... it desperately needs updating.

Of course, I know you have no control over the logo, but I'm just sayin'...

I know. But you do what the client wants. I gave them a couple of options this was what they went with. We were working on the since January of this year. I invested about 10k into this project. One their order form the box is made from real leather not simulated leather.

The one benefit of this project was I was able to drive a Boxer Spider when I was out in Chicago. Very shortly the 356 pen is coming out.

Sorry everybody, but I have to go against the flow. The logo is a classic among high performance sports car enthusiasts. Porsche owners immediately recognize it as the Porsche Club of America.

Congratulations to Alan Shaw!

Nice contract Alan, and I hope you have fun with a new Haas Mill and Lathe, every body I know is getting either SL10's and VM2s or V20s and tool room mills,
hows that song go ,, "Everybody's making it big but me".

My buddy's driven one.. he and I both own "fully equipped" Boxsters. By removing a couple of hundred pounds of weight with the convertible top mechanism, door bits, spare tire, and so forth, it makes the car even more quick!

I just can't get past the fact that there's no real top or roof, just a tarp thingy strapped to the windshield. Totally impractical IMHO, but it was designed for track use.
