Most who use polyclay know that hand sanitizer is a good way of cleaning the residue off of your hands.
However, I need to know if anyone knows of any dangers of this stuff being on the clay when it is baked.
The reason for this experiment is that I found the sanitizer makes a great lubricant for the cutter and results in almost no distortion of the canes because it lets the knife glide right through the clay.
So, I cut a few slices using the lube and then put a blob on the ceramic tile and baked it. The blob left a reside that is easily removed with my thumbnail (right side of photo). The slices do not appear to be in any way effected with discoloration and there was no unusual ordor.
Your thoughts are appreciated.

I spent 7 years as an engineer at the company that invented hand sanitizers.
Water, glycerin, & alcohol are the main ingredients.
I can't think of anything in there that would be a problem.
