I have three polishing bars. They are red, white and green. I would like to know about the hardness and which one to use when polishing my turning. I would also like to know if anyone uses them in finishing there turning. I enjoy reading about all the things people do and I get lots of ideas about pen turning. Thanks

unfortunately, unless you get them from a reputable supplier, you don't
really have any idea what they are. There's no standard for colors and
grits/grades like you would expect.. and stay away from the ones that
have labels that look like you could have made them yourself on your
inkjet printer at home.

My suggestion would be to turn a scrap piece or two and test them.
You could also test some other products at the same time to see what you like.

Here is a link to a jewelry supply house( others out there, I'm just familiar with this one).

You can get an idea of what the polishing compounds 'might ' be from this link but there is no standard color system for compounds as was noted above.
