I just returned from a trip and found the plexi experiments fascinating. I already put up a brew of my own yesterday, and it is almost completely dissolved.

But based on the smell and consistency of the brew, I can't help wondering whether it is any different from my wife's clear nail polish. (And her nail polish remover is 100% acetone.)

Are we going through all these gyrations just to wind up with a 59 cent bottle of nail polish? If so, I can see Beamer's Nobel Prize for chemistry going up in smoke (after all, its very volatile).:D:D

Not much of an experiment going on I have been using this as my sole finish for about a year now. I dont believe this is the same as finger nail polish. The finger nail polish that my wife uses takes about 5-10 minutes to dry this stuff dries solid in less than 30 seconds.

I am relieved to hear that.

Can the plexi be stored in a plastic bottle and dripped on? If not, how do you get it from the jar to the pen?

That's been a challenge for me so far. I have one of those accordian-shaped bottles that you might find used with ink-jet refills that hasn't completely dissolved in the acetone yet. It makes it work just like CA that way. It takes a certain kind of plastic to resist the acetone. I haven't dug enough to find out just what kind of plastic that is, though.

I got a little distracted from my experiment this week, but things should resume in the next day or so :)

I have some 4 oz. plastic bottles (from Edmund Scientific) that I will try.

Incidentally, I tried the Enduro and like it VERY much. The only downside is the waiting time.

I buy my bottles at Sally's Beauty supply for about 1.50. So far the bottles seem to be holding up my original bottle I had for about a year then gave it to either Tbone and Blind Squirrel so they would have to speak for if it is still holding up or not.

Terry, original bottle I think went to Scott. I bought one that day at Woodcraft. However I did pick up 3-4 more from Sally's just in case. Never knew we had one about 4 miles from the house but they have all shapes and sizes of bottles as long as you are careful to get the ones with tops.

I have it. It is still holding up just fine. FYI, the cost of the bottles is now $1.69 [:D]
