Please put my daughter Kelsey on your prayer list. Right before Christmas she became infected with a very bad bacteria in one of her eyes. She has lost all sight in the eye and will probably need a cornea transplant when the bacteria gets under control. She is very strong but of course this is very hard for a beautiful, 16 year old young lady.
Thanks for all the recent prayers for my surgery. Everything went fine.
You are all in my prayers everyday.:) With the coming New Year, let's all be very thankful for what we do have.......................

Bryan, please let her know she has a whole lot of people praying and wishing her a speedy and safe recovery. That's not a fun way to spend Christmas.

Bryan,
Kelsey will be in my families prayers. I am so sorry to hear about this and know that she will always be a beautiful young lady.

Bryan sorry to hear that. We will say a prayer for her.

Is she a contact lens wearer? What was the name of the infection? How far into the cornea is it?

Just so you know, I am/was (only do it part time now) a technician for an eye center in Tempe. I work with a cornea specialist. We had a young lady come in one day, she had slept in her contacts. It started off as a corneal ulcer (diagnosed) she came back the next day and it had gotten worse. We cultured it and sent it to a lab. Two days later before the results came back the Doctor had decided to do an emergency PKP(corneal transplant). The lab results came in and it was what he thought. (dont remember the exact name of the bacteria) However, to make a long story short the young girl is now seeing (last I saw her months ago) 20/40 out of that eye. She is all smiles too. Very happy to be seeing.

The eye is probably the fastest healing part of the body. I hope the infection gets under control. Do they have her on any eye drops?

Thanks guys, we really appreciate the prayers. Thomas, she got the bacteria from wearing a set of non prescription contacts that she got from a kid at school. The doctor says it is a water born bacteria but I can't remember the name. Thanks again for the prayers......[:)]

Thank you all for the prayers. Kelsey went back to the doctor's
today and he says the eye looks alittle better. She told me last night it didn't hurt as much. It still looks like a cornea transplant is in the works once the bacteria is under control.
Thanks again for all of your prayers[:)]

Sincerely,
Bryan

Bryan, I'm sorry she had to go through this in the first place, but I'm glad things are looking better. Please give Kelsey a hug for us.

Bryan, like the others have said - you, Kelsey and the rest of your family will be in our thoughts and prayers along with the doctors that are taking care of her.
