Please help me...

As you all know, I am a police officer and sometimes we see things that bring us to tears and shake us to our cores....

Last night I worked a call at the emergency room where a 4 year old boy was brought in after being hit by a close family member who was backing out of the drive. He died.

I was with the mom, who is a single mother of 7, the youngest being 15 days old. I do not speak Spanish, but I can tell you that PAIN is UNIVERSAL. I held her hand, rubbed her head, allowed her to cry in my embrace. I wiped her wet eyes and her runny nose. I could not speak Spanish but I know she understood that I cared about her and her well-being. There wasn't a dry eye in the entire ER.

Mom has no money for a proper burial. They are of a culture where cremation is not an option. I have raised $600 so far since this morning (which is kind of sad with all the people I know).
