PITH Pen for Sparhawk

Just got word form Sparhawk that this arrived today, so here are the pics. The Pine came from Lowes. The cap is tubed with black Alimilite with the threads cut into the tube. I didnt use a brass tube becasue of the extra width it would have added to the cap.

I painted the cap tube because the pine was translucent. Uses a Rollling Righter insert.

WOW!!! I have to tell you, that is a great looking pen and to know that piece of wood came from Lowes is great. I will guess it i from a sappy section that you would normally not want when picking out wood.
What material was used for the nib section?

Very nice. The finial and center band really set it off. They are the perfect accent for the wood in the pen.
