I can't believe it. This forum has been up for years, everything under the sun has been cast, and I can't find a single entry on anyone doing a thing with Pistachio shells...

Has any one tried casting and turning pistachio shells and if so, how did they turn out and how were they to turn?

Mike,
I think that you're right. I've seen walnut shells, but no pistachio shells. I'm only guessing that they would turn kinda like acorn caps, cherry pits, and coffee beans. Just guessing of course.

The shells are on the brittle and thin side, might have better luck with grinding or smashing them up first. with some of the nut meat still in them. the contrasting colors might make an eye catching blank.
