Does anyone know where to buy pin chucks that have a reasonable level of precision? I know I have seen them but cannot remember where. I also know some folks have made some themselves, but I dont have access to a metal lathe.
Thanks
Bob

I went to tractor supply with the tubes for the kit and found a reasonably close sized bolt. Got home and cut off the head, wrapped some painters tape on it and jamed the bolt into the tubed blank. Put registration marks on the blank and bolt and turned it on my drill chuck. Not " precision" but worked pretty good.

Special tooling is not needed to make closed end pens, if that is what you are going to do with the pin chuck. Take a look at the closed end pen articles on my website at http://www.RedRiverPens.com/articles You will also find a power point presentation on closed end pens at http://www.RedRiverPens.com/PPT
Good luck. And, to answer your question, I don't know anyone selling pin chucks except the one size that Packard sells.
Do a good turn daily!

Harbor Freight sells transfer punches, which I originally purchased as a pen disassembly tool set. They make great pin chucks too!

Thank you again to everyone. Yes, being used for closed end pens. I've been using my chuck to hold them but thought I would try the pin chuck - however - there is a lot fo great info here that I wlll definitely take a go at. First to watch some videos - Thanks for those Don.
Cheers
