To make a really round and empty sphere, 65mm OD (2-9/16") and exactly 2mm thick allover (5/64'', that's small turning, isn't it?) is not that easy. But to pierce it, gosh, you really need time!
Pear wood bleached and ebonized.

Beautiful design as well as super craftsmanship.

I would love to see it in a video, to see it from different angles.

Fantastic work Pierre, really delicate. You should have a look at the work of David Springett and look for his book, "Woodturning Wizardry". you may already know of him but he's worth a look as he has some great challenging sphere pieces.
