OK guys! And gals! I made a watch parts set from what I thought was a junior tube, however the tube for the lower Junior is not correct. I cannot figure out for the life of me, what tube this is! I measured using my calipers and this is what I got. I compared it to the Sierra and it is not a sierra I'm not sure what it is but I don't turn anything but A majority of Sierra and juniors can anyone help me with these measurements to tell me what they think this tube is??

55.03 mm or 2.2055 inches tall.10 .5 mm outside diameter 9.12 mm inside diameter.

Thanks in advance.

Something seems wrong with the numbers.

55.03mm = 2.1665" (not 2.2055")

10.5 mm = 0.413"
9.12 mm = 0.359"
Diff = 0.054" divide that by 2 = 0.027" for the tube wall thickness

I have never seen a pen tube with such a thick wall; Sierra wall thickness = 0.014" for example.

And Sierra twist tube length = 2.21" = 56.13 mm
Sierra tube O.D. = 0.410" = 10.41 mm
I.D. = 0.382" = 9.70 mm

These numbers are pretty close to yours if your I.D. is a mistake and should be 9.72 mm instead of 9.12 mm

I got these numbers from the "Big Table" by our member Wayne Racinowski published in 2010 and still on the IAP site although it has been superceded by a number of "Little Tables", one for each manufacturer. The Sierra dimensions are still the same.

Note to Derek: Standard cigar pen tube size is 10 mm (actually 9.78 mm O.D.)

My caliper batteries could be dying OR due to the tube being spray painted and watch parts already set could be the issue....

So it's either a Sierra or Jr?

I have compared this tube to the Sierra and to the Jr and neither match....ugh....

It sounds like the lower tube of a Jr Gent 2 or one of the many similar kits ... they use a 10.5mm drill for the lower tube.

It's not the diameter I am worried about...I am well aware that the jr bottom tube is 10.5mm It's the height of the tube!!!!!

It is taller than the 10.5mm JUNIOR bottom tube....I agree it is the same diameter....just stumped as to why it is not the same height?????

Anyone????
