I would to thank Mike (Russianwolf) for the wood and Cav for help figuring out Philippine Kama gong is also Philippine Persimmon tree. Here is my second fountain pen; a JR Gent is copper with a SF nib from Lou, (could not get the TM for Heritance, sorry Lou :redface:). This is for a friend's father who grew up in the Philippines.

Congratulations on the pen.

The Philippine Persimmon is close to some of the Japanese persimmon. I had a source for a small amount the ebony persimmon here for a while but it dried up. Now, when I talk to people (in Japan) about ebony persimmon, they don't know what I am talking about. The more common persimmon here has occasional black streaks against mostly light colored wood.

I love the Japanese and Philippine ebony persimmon - turns great!
