so how many pens will that make for you to have at the show? If you dont mind sharing what is the price range you will be offering also?

and I am not going either, 13-14 hour drive 1 way from my house

Now that I know about it, I might actually drive up! I think I stayed at that same Sheraton a few years ago on an anniversary trip...

A total of four new styles will be in the Price Range for the pens from from 130.00 to 195.00 . This year tried to keep it under 200.00. There will be a couple of surprise pens there. It will be exclusive to only one dealer. The Baltimore Pen Show will have a couple of new styles will be released then, in the 300.00 + range.

All of these will be part of a collection. One is the Alchemy Collection which will be in this coming Pen World. Next next one is the Gilbert Collection with bp, fp, and rb.
Photos will be available next week. All totaled there should be 125 pens at the show. Of course I do not sell directly to my customers. I have a round robin setup with my dealers. Of which there should be three there.

Just add two more dealers starting in February.

Hope to see everyone there.

Richard glad you are coming. Looking forward to your work. Also I will have a special quest at my table on Saturday.

Exhibiting in a "pen show" is a very different world, for those who don't know.

Alan has spent years going to select pen shows, in the Eastern part of the USA. He has endeavored to "build a brand" utilizing distribution through retailers as well as creating some exceptional works that have gone to "high end" manufacturers as luxury pens for sports car affectionados and other "niche markets".

He has also produced some pens that the pen shows have used as THEIR promotional product.

So, when you analyze how you could "do a show", keep his business model in mind. Do you want to compete with this efficiency?

Also at this show you are likely to run into Barry Gross and Rich Kleinhenz, each with THEIR track record of a decade at these PEN shows. Oh, and the Gisi family will be there, to show equally established "geometric impossibilities".

The tables at these shows don't cost a lot.

But, don't fool yourselves---the ENTRY FEE should include a ten year commitment if you hope to succeed.

I tried it----to ME, it was not worth the necessary time investment.

Hopefully, Alan will start "cashing in"---he has SURE paid HIS dues.

YMMV.

what a great piece of information right there.

Thanks for your kind words. This profession can keep you late at night. 70% of my time goes in the business of business the rest is actually making pens.

Philly is were I introduce new products that be produced through out the year. I have not done any engraved pens for this show in order to keep the price down. Baltimore Show will have one new limited edition collection in which one customer has already bought one. The other pen will be a reintroduction of my Defense of Fort Mchenry.

Hey Alan!!

Those are NOT "Kind words", they are the story of your life, since I have known you.

NO ONE that I have ever met has been more dedicated to a pursuit as you have been to your pen company (and I have known some pretty outstanding athletes).

Any success you come to enjoy has been earned by blood (overcoming many serious illnesses) and the usual sweat and tears (I've even shared a few with you).

You and a handful of others have introduced "hand made pens" to the pen show world. I hope you all will come to "cash in" at some point.

Maybe this IS that point!!!
Best of success, my friend.

There is no way I could do this without the full support from my wife.

Also from all of the vendors you included to ensure I have the right product and in my shop on time.

One of my goals was to use only small American based companies. For one that is the only way we can get this economy going. And two customer service.

My vendors include Exotic Blanks, Captain Gary, John Uphall, Ken Nelsen, Penn State Ind, Ken (Pen Pro), Bereahardwoods and CSUSA. I have nothing but good to say about all of these vendors.

Not to knock down anything you said, but I am a Sprint Cup Fan, and man you sounded just like a driver in Victory Lane.

"I could not have done this without my team. They gave me a great car this weekend. I would like to thank my sponsors......"

All said I do wish you all the fruits of your labor.

I too am a NASCAR fan did not mean to sound like I was in the winners circle. But I do not care what can of business you are running it is the team that wins. There are just a handle full of businesses that are successful because of one person.

I do need to rely on people who do a great job in their field whether they are suppliers or casters.
