Exhibiting in a "pen show" is a very different world, for those who don't know.
Alan has spent years going to select pen shows, in the Eastern part of the USA. He has endeavored to "build a brand" utilizing distribution through retailers as well as creating some exceptional works that have gone to "high end" manufacturers as luxury pens for sports car affectionados and other "niche markets".
He has also produced some pens that the pen shows have used as THEIR promotional product.
So, when you analyze how you could "do a show", keep his business model in mind. Do you want to compete with this efficiency?
Also at this show you are likely to run into Barry Gross and Rich Kleinhenz, each with THEIR track record of a decade at these PEN shows. Oh, and the Gisi family will be there, to show equally established "geometric impossibilities".
The tables at these shows don't cost a lot.
But, don't fool yourselves---the ENTRY FEE should include a ten year commitment if you hope to succeed.
I tried it----to ME, it was not worth the necessary time investment.
Hopefully, Alan will start "cashing in"---he has SURE paid HIS dues.
YMMV.

There is no way I could do this without the full support from my wife.
Also from all of the vendors you included to ensure I have the right product and in my shop on time.
One of my goals was to use only small American based companies. For one that is the only way we can get this economy going. And two customer service.
My vendors include Exotic Blanks, Captain Gary, John Uphall, Ken Nelsen, Penn State Ind, Ken (Pen Pro), Bereahardwoods and CSUSA. I have nothing but good to say about all of these vendors.
