I made these pens using Petoskey Stone.
A fossil that is only found on the shores of Lake Michigan.
A very difficult medium to work with and needed a degree of luck in the process..
Not many of these pens have ever been successfuly made using Petoskey stone.

Those are very cool! I'd be interested to know more about the process of shaping and turning the stone. We used to collect Petoskey stones when I was a kid about a million years ago; must have had hundreds of the things, long gone now unfortunately.

Nice, I usually spend a week in Petoskey every Fall. I have a buddy that lives in Alanson.
