I have a friend who has a 30 year anniversary coming soon. I want to make a matching pair of pens for them. what type of kit would you suggest? Is there a place where I can get some nice blanks of native peruvian wood?

Peruvian Walnut is the first thing that pops in my mind.

You may want to put up an add in the wanted section for some or go to a site like Wood Barter, maybe there's someone with a stash of Peruvian woods out there with more figure.

Andiroba is a nice wood, often with great chatoyancy. I have a few Andiroba blanks left, but I can't say if they are from Peru or some other South American country. Send me a PM if you are interested in them.
