Hey I want to fit my logo (which is my initials) above the band and under the clip. I was using a very fine tip marker and CA finish with mild success. I was wondering if anyone had a good idea how to do this without the finish either dissolving (CA) or rubbing out (friction polish) the marker. Could I get a wood burning dye made up that would be small enough 1/4 inch or less??

There's a company that sells Micro stamps. Those would do the trick. It's been posted before so someone will know the web info.

Those micros are not suitable for wood. And, they are very expensive. And-and, they are too small to see without magnification. Meant for security identification on expensive items like jewelry, guns, etc.

I would use the clear water slide decals that they put on fishing rods.

Then seal in with a few coats of CA.

Greg, I have had some sucess with forming wire and heating it with a torch on flat work. Might be a little hard on a round pen. Should be able to roll in on if you can hold the pen solid.

I saw a pen turning demonstration by Kirk DeHeer CSUSA. I believe he uses a dremel with an engraving bit and signs his name under the clip. I also believe he uses one of those 10 power magnifiers.

In a word, yes. Small ones are costly.

You could also buy a wood burner, and get an extremely small tip for the pen. I know that these are available.
