Now THIS is really, REALLY cool. The Wood Database has created a Periodic Table of Wood from around the world. This thing is soooooo cool, I will definatley be getting one and wanted to share it here for everyone. It will be on my Christmas list before I go buy it anyway....

LOL - yeah, pecan is a type of hickory, but comparing pecan to shagbark hickory is like saying that red & white oaks are all the same or that claro & black walnut are the same. Somehow they managed to distinguish those general types of oak & walnut, but not hickories? It's unforgivable!

Not to be "picky" but shagbark hickory is just one species of the general "true-hickories" while pecan is one species of the general "pecan-hickories". We wuz snubbed!
