I'm finally getting some lathe time this year, just in time for Christmas gift making. I've done pens, pizza cutters, wine stoppers, and other relatively simple turnings, but nothing really much more difficult. So I decided this year I would try making peppermills. Here is a shot of one of the segmented blanks, next to the first completed peppermill. These use the Crush-Grind shaftless mechanism, and the instructions were pretty bad. The first one had me a little worried on whether it would turn out OK, but I took my time boring the holes and turning the tenons for the press fits on upper body and stopper. The second one should go much faster.

Wood is jatoba, walnut, purpleheart, and maple. These are pretty fun, I can see doing more of these in the future.
