I want to make a pen for each of my co-workers. I am the only guy in the department.

I have shown them some pens that I have made, some have made the comment that the pens are heavy. The only pens that have not gotten that comment are the slim lines.

I would like to offer them a variety and let them choose the style of pen they would like

I was wondering what type of pen kit might be popular with the ladies beside the slim lines.

Thanks

Jerry

The Soft Grip Pens, made without using the rubber soft grip, are just a little larger than a slimline. After that one of the Sierra styles. However, don't assume all the women will want these styles. Some may want a larger pen just like some men prefer a slimline.

If you want to stick with slimline weight, you can turn some modified slimlines. You can make them look like totally different styled pens but all are based on the slimline kit.

Check out the articles and book by Don Ward.

For me the following have been popular with most women.
1. Slimline
2. Comfort
3. Designer
4. Concava
5. Chic
6. Executive
7. Vesper Click

My wife loves her comfort pen with the rubber sleeve and it's my number one seller. The other you might try is the PSI Trim line pen, a bit larger than the Slim line but still has a nice feel to it.

The new aluminum EDC Duraclick pens from PSI are lightweight; Also, I just received some Zoe pen kits that look promising, and have some bling (crystals on the clip and finial). Both use 8mm tubes.

Best pen for ladies is the Aero ... (I think, more completely, Artisan Aero from Craft Supplies USA)

My wife really likes the Lancer from WoodTurningz. I've made her several pens with that kit.

The Sierra Elegant Spectrum and Prism are really striking kits. Check out Exotic Blanks for those.

I like the Aero twists (CSUSA), especially as gift pens - just sent 2 out to 2 gals.
1. 23/64, thin with a lot of "meat". I still paint the tubes and barrels (but probably don't have to do both)
2. Short material (which usually I don't like) allows me to use cut-offs
3. The "centerband" is somewhat feminine (but who knows nowadays). In fact, many guy customers like it until they see the CB. I am going to call CSUSA to see if there are other CB options.

You have much to chose from as you see from all of the replies.

If I don't use a cut-off, I make them an Executive.

Nouveau Scepter and Majestic Squire have been popular for ladies but the Majestic can be a bit heavy. I've made quite a few Crown Jewels from PSI, not my thing but seem to be popular, low cost, and light with a longer barrel to show off the blank.

Well...the Aero doesn't with a less feminine CB. Unless it does, and CSUSA doesn't carry it. The tech said the CB is part of the lower grip section.
