Does anyone own this?
http://www.pennstateind.com/store/PROBUFF.html
I like it because it has its own motor. I bought a small cheep pen lathe from Harbor Freight and I dont think it will pull the 3 buff system that fits on a lathe. I went with the least expensive lathe to see if this tool would be used or just added to the collection. If anyone owns this or knows about it please let me know. Do we have any venders that stock these? Thanks

I own one. I use it on ocassion, mostly when traveling to another shop to teach. I consider the 4" wheels a bit small for my liking. I have since purchased a cheap grinder and put buffing wheels on each side of it and I also have a homemade 3 wheel buffer I use on an extra lathe.
Do a good turn daily!

I used it a couple of times then moved up to the Beall triple buffer. I am selling mine and have it listed in the online classifieds provided for free by a local tv station. This is NOT a for sale ad just a comment.

Don I have a 1/2 HP bench grinder that needs a job but the RPM is 3450. The Beal System recommends 1725. Is this to fast or will it work.

I didn't think 3450 was too fast when I was using the grinder as a buffer. Smaller buffing wheels would make the surface speed of the buffing wheels less. For example, the tips of the buffing wheels would be going slower (in mph not rpm) on a 5" wheel compared to a 6 inch wheel. I buff while the blanks are still on the mandrel. #2MT arbors are available for buffing wheels and you can slip it into the lathe and buff on the lathe. Arbors are available for use on a drill press and use the drill press for a buffer. There are several alternatives available.

Thanks everyone for the information. I decided to go with the Beall. Woodcraft has it on sale for $62.99 with free shipping if you spend over $75. So I did.
