I usually put my pencil in a collet chuck and sharpen it with a carbide cutter.

I would think ones sanding disc that you use with your blank squaring jig would work much better, although I haven't tried that yet...

I use my 1" vertical belt sander....Actually, Harbor Freight has their 1" belt sanders on clearance right now.I thought that was the way everyone sharpened theirs!

I have an old fashion school pencil sharpener attached to the door jam ... works just like it did in 3rd grade.
