I found the directions for making this somewhere on IAP awhile back. Finally got around to making it. It works great.

This is all that I had downloaded. Just before I made it, I was looking thru the forums to see if I could find more info on it but no luck. The pictures turned out to be more than enough to make it. I bought the plunger, the handle and threaded insert from Rockler. Let me know if you have any questions about it. I'll do my best to answer.

Thanks for the reply. Is the little piece on the bottom (under the two small pieces) necessary?

It helps to keep the longer piece of wood straight and level with the plunger.

Has JIm Croce says in the operator song "You've been so much more than kind" (you can keep the dime). I just wonder if a dowel and a series of holes would replace the handle and threaded insert?

It could. Would just have to make sure to put enough hole and watch the spacing of them. It should work.
