Let this jig free up one of your hands for a more controlled assembly. The drilling jig you use to hold your blanks, will hold this jig and can be any setup you have. There is no ballancing act here.
The following photos show the basic idea...
The parts:
Tube Support
Plunger
Tip Support
How they are used:
Place turned pen on tube support. This holds the part in place for pressing parts without a ballancing act. You need one of these for each tube size. The post on the tube support needs to be just a hair (technical term) under size of the tube, to allow the tube to be supported without any movement.
The jig holds the tube, while one hand holds the part being pressed, the other hand turns drill press wheel pressing part in place.
The tip support holds tube so you can press in the transmission, there is a tappered hole that holds the tip in the HD plastic.
Pressing the clip in place. Look ma "no hands!"
The idea for this jig is for personal use only. Any reproduction for resale without permission is strickly forbidden.
