I picked up this set of blanks from a person who traditionally deals with blanks from famous stadiums. He managed to get some blanks from the Spruce Goose aircraft as it was being renovated for display in the Evergreen Museum in Oregon. I matched it up with a simple Jr Gent as I wanted the focus on the pen blanks and not the kit. The wood is from the Birch plywood sheathing that was being replaced. It actually makes a rather attractive pen with an interesting piece of aviation history.

Yep, nice pen with a ton of history. My father was once in LA on business and had some free time. He was in the airforce during WWII as a flight engineer. His comment- That is impressive! It is my understanding that a special adhesive was formulated for this aircraft. Anyone know anything about this?

Thank you all for the kind comments. I gave the pen to my friend today and he was extremely pleased. He loved the aviation historical aspect of the pen and I'm sure he will show it off to his colleagues.
