After quickly running out of places to store and show off my pens, I begin looking for a display case. After not being able to find anything I liked, or could afford, I settled on building one of my own. I took this idea from an item I saw on ebay and modified it to suit my needs and budget.
It is made from mostly leftover maple stock from an earlier cabinet project. The miter spines and drawer pulls are ebony. The three display windows on the sides hold a total of 18 slimline pens. The six drawers are currently set up to hold 6 pens each. These can easily be modified to hold more or less pens by changing the removable rails. The top drawer, by default, becomes the top display. This area can also be accessed by the hinged top lid. The whole unit is dressed up with emerald green velvet backing and sits on a swivel base.
This is quickly filling up, so watch for another revision in the near future.
