Berad, I just use a bandsaw. I lay the tubes on the wood and mark it. Same with cutting to the 3/4x3/4 size.
I do as well but The Geist jig is awesome for all tubes. Appreciate the advice. This is an awesome platform for our hobby and gif done their professions
 
Search the web for kerf maker jigs; it's basically the same except Tim's is nicely machined and made for you.

I cut 3/4x3/4x5 blanks by placing the tube on the blank add about 1/4 inch, mark and cut on the bandsaw. I rip and crosscut boards of various species on the bandsaw ot make blanks. I can cut to a specific length based on the tube. Sorry but I don't feel the need for the gizmo in the video. Been doing this for years.
