My daughter's been traveling around Italy for almost nine-months doing mini-apprenticeships.
She returned home and is quickly headed off again, so tonight we exchanged gifts.
She's a pastry & dessert chef, a culinary artiste. ;)
I made her a pen as a stocking stuffer -- pens being new to me, everyone gets a pen, right?!?
But, I also made the little item holding her pen up for display: a rolling pin
of Osage orange and black walnut.

Take a look at the natural figure in the handle.

Tim,
The handles are simply mortised into tenons and glued. I tried to get a pop-fit, where
the end of the tenon was slightly fat and would allow the handle to spin, but couldn't
work it out. Next time.
I never saw the heart until after we opened gifts and I was taking the picture.
Then, I had to post it.
Gary
