It's tough to get a suitable kit which has a single barrel with a fairly long barrel ... especially when you want matching pen and pencil.
One of the problems is that as the barrel becomes longer it becomes harder to drill the hole straight.
Drilling on the lathe helps in this regard, and a metal-working lathe is better than a wood-working lathe ... espec. as the length increases beyond about 3 inches. . But not everyone has a metal-working lathe.
Quite frankly, there aren't a lot of suitable kit styles that offer both pen and pencil.
The PSI Executive is one that offers both pen and pencil but you don't like that style, as you said.
The PSI Slimline Pro is another, but it is a two-barrel design.
You can make the Slimline Pro as a single barrel (rather long at 4.22") and you need an appropriate lathe, tools, and know-how to do it.
I have done this quite often. . I've just made the Pro pen kits but doing the pencil kit should not be any different.
Considering the Sierra (basically same as Gatsby) you can buy pencil inserts for that kit, but you don't like that style of pen either.
There are tables of data for just about every available pen kit from every manufacturer here on the IAP website in the Resources section.
I would recommend that you scan those tables for what you want ... it's a bit of a chore but I don't know of any easier method .......
...... unless one of our members has done what you want to do and luckily happens along to give you the data that you need.
Good luck in your quest. . I hope you will report back if you find what you are looking for.
Here is a link that I just saw and it might be of interest to you to read through it (I have not yet done that) :-
I have a potential client who's looking for a matching pen/pencil kit but they have some fairly specific requests. I've looked around a bit with little luck so I thought I'd ask here for some recommendations. Here's what they're looking for: 1. Matching Pen / Pencil Set 2. Pen has to be...
