I'm pretty new. I've considered all my previous pens to be practice. Not that 31 pens of practice makes this one perfect.

A fellow turner from this site sent me a few pieces of wood to try (many thanks!) which arrived just when I felt I was ready to step up and make a pen of a better quality.

This is Kingswood with aluminum inlay (a can of Red Bull gave its wings to make this pen 😜).

Awesome finish! Way better than my 32nd pen, that's for sure. The pattern of the aluminum adds just enough without being too busy. Well done!
