Peach wood Sierra

This spring my daughter bought a peach orchard. I snagged some of their cut offs and created this peach wood sierra. We've got peach orchards all around us (along with quite a number of vineyards - I may try a grape vine pen next) and I have never seen anyone around here selling a peach wood pen. My daughter will offer them in her store when it opens up before Christmas.

I think it's a great idea!! Can you make a scratch and sniff pen?

You could also cast peach pits in clear resin and make bottle stoppers

I have thought of that, but since I don't cast yet I haven't worked too hard on it. Although one potential problem with convincing people to use them for bottle stoppers is that peach pits contain cyanide....

I love turning Peach, Steve. It's actually quite alot like Cherry as far as characteristics go. I got lucky and snagged a root ball some years back. The grain is amazing.

It would be a shame to destroy those trees when you could be using or selling blanks
