The last few days Pay Pal shipping has been down at times for me, has anyone else had this problem? I'll spend the time to print the shipping label and it will not print as pay pal will say try again later. A royal PITA as I have to copy and paste the info and use my other mailing program Endicia to print the labels and than send an e-mail to the recipient letting them know the tracking # .

I have gotten messages that it is down but I click it again and it goes. It has never stayed down, but then again it has been over a week since I have printed a shipping label there.

The day before yesterday it was down most of the day and this morning I tried to ship 12 orders and its been down for the last two hours. This is what I get!!

We are not able to generate your label at this time. Your .PayPal account was not charged. Please try again later.
  • PayPal Shipping is not available. We apologize for the inconvenience

That is a PITA. I am so used to having the info filled in for me that I dread going to usps.com to do it.

I was able to print a label yesterday on paypal. I've had that same problem before though. I was told to make sure Java was up to date. Might do something, might not. Worst case senario is you have to manually type in addresses into the USPS label maker on their site: https://sss-web.usps.com/cns/landing.do you'll have to create an account if you don't already have one. One good thing is you can pay for the labels via paypal. Prints the same.

I happen to have a shipping and postage program called Endecia that I use mostly for overseas shipments but I use when Pay Pal dosen't want to play nice. It's just a PITA when you have a dz or so mailings to go out before noon. I did find that after getting a tracking # if you go back to Paypal and list the tracking #, pay pal e-mails the buyer the number...

I have not had any issues in the recent past outside of having to click the multiple pop up windows which drives me nuts. click here to save does nothing but aggravate me ;(

I have looked at a few others out there to replace PayPal but I don't care for the additional monthly cost and end up back with them

Roy:
I was having a similar issue yesterday, but today it worked just fine.
Something (I didn't change it) changed in "pop up blocker" which was not allowing the shipping screen to come up.

After changing the settings BACK to "always allow pop ups from this site" everything worked normally.

I suspect the change was made by the Java update that happened Tuesday evening. Good luck!

Shipped some Flat Rate Envelopes the other day and realized that Paypal was charging more than the USPS site. You would think they make enough $$.

Also didn't realize Paypal apparently has a minimum fee as I had someone send me a dollar and the fee was 33 cents. First time I had a small amount, at least that I remember. Won't do that again.

Roy,
I haven't used either PayPal Shipping or Endicia on a daily basis in quite a while, but it's disappointing that your current experience mirrors my past frustrations with both services. I ended up paying the extra money for Endicia's premium subscription as it allowed me to semi-automate my shipments. For multiple shipments, Endicia Premium was much faster (and MUCH more reliable) for me than PayPal Shipping. I would highlight and copy the Ship To address, and Endicia Premium would automatically grab the address from my Windows Clipboard and open Endicia another window. An instant after I printed my label, my email would open with my own standard shipping & thank-you message containing the Delivery Confirmation "tracking" info. I would copy and paste the email address from my PayPal window (and any other info I wanted to add), then send the email. After a few shipments I developed a rhythm, and I could print a PayPal Receipt, print an Endicia postal labels, and send a shipment email pretty quickly. In my case, it really was worth the extra bucks just to have Endicia automatically grab and initiate an address label from blocked text on a web page. At that time, parcel insurance was significantly cheaper through Endicia as well. If I recall correctly, Endicia gave me a free month's service upgrade to see if I liked the premium service. So, for me, Endicia Premium sucked much, much less than PayPal Shipping, but Endicia costs money whether you use it or not.

I had the same thing happen the other day. Used my browser's back button to go back a page and got the page expired note hit reenter and it made the label. The thing I had problems with in the past was the international shipping was not working it kept telling me to download the new java (that was up to date) I contacted PayPal and they said it was a known problem. Now this was a few months ago I think they got it fix now. That was a pain I had to bring every thing over to ClickNship.

There's always a way:smile:

Hi Roy:biggrin:

Wonder how much of those computer problems are impacted by the solar storm this week? I had problems at the airport getting the systems to read our passports yesterday. Guess I should have just stayed in Cancun!

I was wondering if this occurs when PP and USPS aren't 'talking' to each other for a few moments? Or maybe it was that big blast of plasma that shot off the sun and arrived?

Scott

Well today the same thing, just got off the phone with PP and they said that the problem looks to be on their end as the software for some unknown reason is denying the postage. They said that they will get back to me today....

Mannie they said it is some kind of a problem with my account and their software as I have over a few thousand dollars in the account but it keeps denying the purchase of postage.

I was just successful using PP for both UPS and USPS. No problem at all.

Ahh. Ok. When you said the problem appears to be on their end, I didn't realize you meant only with your account.

i use stamps.com for all of my shipping and msiling. PayPal is very limited on the labels you can use, etc. a bit expensive but i love it. use for all stamps for SWMBO also.
i have even been able to put my logo on my packages as well. love it.
