Where can I get a small amount of O rings. Should I simply take a few to ACE Hardware?

Yes and also check out a few lowes or Home Depots. I have seen those in the drawers that they have. Not sure what store. Not all stores have same stock so may require a few trips or you can do a computer search first or have one of those guys do it.

O-rings I generally use the plumbing department at Lowes, or ACE Hardware.

For odd sizes or any difficult to find hardware or tool items you just cannot find. McMaster Carr is THE place. www.mcmaster.com, on-line catalog is thousands of pages. They are not inexpensive, but they will have what you want, and things you never knew you wanted.

O rings are too thick however I have them if needed for something else. Looks like a trip to ACE is in place.
