Parker ballpoint refills have a "sawtooth" top.
If you're asking how you can tell before you purchase the kits, you will learn what diameter pens GENERALLY use what refills. If it's a 7mm tube, it's a Cross. Over 27/64" drill bit, usually a Parker.
Rollerballs are their own category--none of this applies to them.
