I'm fiddling with walking sticks & canes. Have you done any Para wrapping. What technique do you use. It is usually wrapped and removable but I might simply use glue on the grip area and hand turn it on. If you have done this I have few questions. Thanks

I made some walking sticks for me and my wife and used this spiral wrap. It has a nice tactile grip and can be done with or without the wrist loop ( I didn't use it on the one's I made). No need for glue it holds very tight.

I've wrapped a few things - none of the fancier techniques, just the regular approach, I think. You form a bight in the line, lay it against the handle to be wrapped, then wrap it from bottom to top, leaving just a bit of the loop exposed at the top of your wrapping. Finally you insert the wrapping line through the loop, and pull from the other end to tighten it down. Makes a clean end.

Good stuff thanks... Have practiced a few...it's easy & fun. Currently working on a 48"x 1 1.8 pine dowel. Will finish with Danish oil and wrap.

Good idea. Nothing like a walking stick for balance and security.
Fishing rod guides are wrapped by overwrapping a loop with a few wraps, putting the tag end in the loop and pulling the tag end under the wraps. Lots of YT videos on this.

I need a walking stick like a snail needs air brakes. The wrap is para/cord. It's my first shot at it. I ran short but used black without the spiral to finish. I need to work on How To End the wrap. I'll most likely go with the Derby handle. It's a gentleman's grip

TreelineUSA has lots of nice stuff. I got a brass hame top for a walking stick I am going to build for a friend. Really nice polishing and solid brass. They also have chrome hames.
