He isn't here and won't be coming back but you can email him no problem. I don't know the story, and don't really care what it was, it's his business no mine. if you don't know the email, go to skiprat-pens.com and you can find it there.

I think its a shame that someone can get so mad at someone or something on a web forum that they feel they need to retreat and forget all about it and everyone there, like friends. Im not sure what happened, but i cant think of anything that would make me so made that i wouldnt want to came back. If its one person, you can block them and not have to deal with them and have fun with the rest of your friends. You will be missed Steven.

Bummer. He always had good input. Is this the same situation as Butch (idb2000)? I haven't seem him in awhile either.

As far as I know Butch's situation and Skippy's are completely different. Butch had been out of work for a while and the last I heard he found either a part time or full time job and he just might be busy. I could be wrong but I just don't think Butch's and Skippys are even close to being the same. I do keep in touch with skippy and this reminded me I need to write him.

Skip showed so many of us what could be done, and always shared his knowledge freely, I'm real sorry to see guys like Steven and Cav, and way too many others move away from this place, I know I've been spending more time on other forums partially because of some of the acrimony and partly because I do like seeing some different things. But until it gets worse this will still be my other home!!
Come back Skip!!!

Being among the semi-departed, I can say that it's not as easy as just putting somebody on ignore. We each have our own reason for walking away. Sometime . . . . take a look at the "Member List". Try looking at it by chronological date . . . . click on the "Join Date" column and look at the number of posts that were made. You'll see names of some very influential members who contributed a lot to the making of IAP . . . people like Bill Jacob, Old Griz, tipusnr, Bev . . . .

The point is . . . . it's easy for current members to turn their back and not think about the history of IAP and the people who made it was it is today. The important thing is to think about how each of you influence the direction that it takes and what kind of place you want it to become. The way I see it . . . . the days of "being a family" have given way to "over commercialization". Maybe the new classified rules will help right the ship.

Al, I know exactly what you mean, I've only been here for four years, but I've seen so much great talent leave, some approached and maybe even surpassed Eagle's skill, guys like Keith Larrett and Steve Schweitzer, not to mention Fyrefighteremt and others that got me interested in Fountain Pens. This site has been a wealth of talent, many of whom backed away because the6y thought it was their right and privilege to have a Video tutorial on how they crafted some of their fantastic designs. thank goodness there are still folks like Don Ward and Roy that show us some great patience, and show us some beautiful work. Now why haven't we seen much from you lately??
Peace Friend.
