Basically a Sierra or Wallstreet mod.

Blank is African blackwood

Let me know what you think. This finish has given me fits and I don't think I'm done with it yet

Blackwood is oily if I remember correctly.

Pen looks good, not too sure about the color combo of the kit itself.

I'm assuming the background was white? If so, here's a pic a little more true to life, which I think makes the pen look a little more color coordinated:

I've got a photo/raster editing program called CorelPaint in the Corel line. It's got an color hue adjustment tool in it. I just fiddled around with the hues till the background became almost white, since that was the only certanty in the pic, a white background.

I'd guess there has to be a freeware photo editing software out there that can do the same thing. Years ago, there was a freeware that was very similar to Adobe Photoshop, but totally free.

When I get an oily wood like that I will usually (providing I remember, sometimes suffer from old timers disease  ) wipe it down a couple times with alcohol to remove most of the surface oil. Seems to help most of the time. Pen looks good.
