An ornithologist/gardener friend requested some engraved bottle stoppers - my choice of birds and blossom.

Steps:
18 ga. copper cut to shape with a jewelers saw, then slightly domed on a dapping block; cleaned with acetone.
Manually engraved with hand ground gravers using Steve Lindsay's universal point geometry. Owl has some attitude, puffin is more placid.
Owl and puffin patina done with liver of sulfur, stopped with a baking soda rub.
Rose painted with handmade solvent-based paints; cured x 3 days.
Engravings set on a level surface, domed with ArtResin epoxy; then cured x 1 week.
Domed engravings then epoxied onto a Ruth Niles stopper fitting.

Fun little exercise, and more ahead.

Warm regards to all, and happy Monday - Bob

Your talent doesn't seem to have any boundaries Bob.
I have to admit though and it is probably unique to me, the second my eyes hit the combination of stopper and egg shape, my brain went to Christmas lights.
