The old Craftsman finally died after 22-23 years and I had to go buy a new lathe.:biggrin:

Jet 1642EVS and it is sweet!

Sorry to hear of the passing of your craftsman, I hope your new Jet brings you some consolation. If not perhaps you could find a support group, Oh wait that group is for those of us who don't have beautiful new Jets completely decked out.
 
I'm pretty sure you'll keep on loving your 1642..I've had one for better than a year & I still find it just grand...good luck
 
David, Congrats. that is a considerable upgrade. hope it brings you as much joy as the craftsman did. I got a cheapy cheapy no name lathe about that long ago. it is still going but has lots of complaints about having to do so. I just added a new lathe to my shop to take some of the burden off the old one. Yours has a lot more bells and whistles than I got. Fentastic cabinet and tool storage as well.
