Well, I took a break from the lab. I am currently on a scuba diving trip to Roatan, Honduras with my two daughters for spring break. We are having a blast! So far we have logged about 12 dives and have 2 days to go. weather is in the 80's and visibility underwater is about 100 feet.

Eugene, I'm verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry jealous, the temp the day before yesterday here was in the 70's today 29 and sleet. You have 2 lovley daughters and its great your spending time with them now.

Eugene,

One of my good friends from college lives on Roatan. His name is Shawn Hyde. His family owns one of the largest shrimp boat fleets and processing facilities. Them and another friend's family are the wealthiest families on Roatan. The other friend's family owns Fantasy Island Resort.

I spent 10 days on Roatan right after college. We stayed in their guest houseboat in French Harbor and only had to pay for airfare and bar tabs. We were treated like kings by all of the locals once they knew we were personal guests of the Hydes. We made 3 dive a day and never had to pay for a single one!

If you have time, ask around and look up Shawn. Tell him you are a friend of mine. I bet he will take you to dinner and treat you like royalty. He is a great guy. he is running the family business now. One of his companies is Hyde Shipping. The shrimp company is Marisco Hybur and he also owns Hybur Supplies.

Now you tell me :)... We are going on a shark dive this morning and should be back by mid-day. I am stying at a resort called "Pura Vida" on the west end which is on the other side of French Harbor...I'll see what I can dig up after the dive.
Thanks, Eugene.

I have a motorcycle sitting down there somewhere, or at least I did. Haven't been back there in 20 years. I remember the diving was great and the food was even better. Have a blast.

Lucky you!!! Your girls are beautiful, do you have the keys?? Hope you's have a great time!! Vacations are so much fun, you have to come home to rest up!!!

I think we need to move the world headquarters of the IAP

I had a great week of Diving around Roatan a few months before they got pounded by Hurricaine Mitch. You should have a great time.
