A cozy 16x24 with another 6' of front porch when it's done to give a nice usable 16x30 shop. None of this brick existed when I left for work this morning. This is about 5 hours worth of the crew brick laying...they are fast.

This is on top of the concrete footing poured yesterday and will be filled with dirt and a slab poured to give us a good starting point for the building itself. Can't wait to have my garage back for the '79 beetle restoration that is currently sharing space with all of my woodworking gear.

Forgive the picture quality. It was a quick progress snapshot from my wife's phone. I'll get better pictures tonight if the weather holds.

Well, it's not the size of Jim's shop but it'll do for our needs :)

I'll have to have the group over once we get up and running, but that'll probably be towards the end of summer or sometime in fall by the time we get Duke to come install a new meter for electricity and then actually put in the $$ to outfit the interior.

Nice Carl! That's a garage-mahal compared to my 10x12 . If I have enogh $$ left, I'll put a porch on mine as well. For Break Time  A neighbor behind me has one. Looking Good!

Very nice!
It's good to have a dedicated shop. Mine is about the same size and is just right for my needs.

Updated pictures of the finished foundation walls.

That's the size of mine. :) I wish I had gone bigger, but that will always be the case. One bit of advise I can offer is to think real hard on the layout before you set it up. Once you get everything setup it is kind of hard to rearrange. Also, plan your power for double what you think you will need. I have each big tool on its own breaker, and the lights on their own also.
Enjoy it tho, having your own space is such a wonderful thing.

Wait...one side is taller than the other!! Just kidding!! That's going to be a ball for you Carl...congratz!!
