See My USPS shipment info on my recent CSUSA order below. Hats off to CSUSA for making it right though....it almost made it here, then looks like the postal service turned the box upside down and shipped it back to Utah.....then realized what happened and shipped it back to PA:confused:......start at the bottom:

Last year, I sent an overnight form far west Kentucky to Rochester, MN for my Bride when she was at Mayo Clinic. It only took 5 (five) days. I was thrilled it arrived before she was to leave for home. WHEEEEEE!

Many years ago, I ordered a stereo receiver from Allied Radio in Chicago (I did say 'many years ago').

The received was shipped via Railway Express (yup - that really was many years ago). I was young and single at the time (many years ago), so when they tried to deliver it, I was at work and there was no one to receive the package. Rather than leaving a note, or trying again, they simply returned it to the sender.

When I finally realized that I had never received the package and called, Allied explained what had happened, and said that the receiver had been returned to stock. And then they sold out.

The point is that this kind of thing happens, and has always happened, to some fraction of shipments. And we always hear about the shipments that get lost or damaged, but we rarely hear about the millions of shipments that arrived on time and in perfect condition.

You're correct Louie....i use flat rate usps all the time and it generally goes great. One would think though that a computer somewhere would recognize that the shipment was headed back to where it came from. One of the drawbacks of technology I guess.

It is also not limited to one carrier - they all screw up from time to time.

This is very true... but when you consider the shear volume of packages and mail pieces in transit on any given day, the percentage is very low... maybe less than .01% error factor... (I know when it happens to you it's the only package you are concerned with.)

Most of us are dealing with relatively small packages... as a former shipping manager, I've had some very large pieces go missing... some of which were never found.

CSUSA is the best commercial operation around for turners. I am excluding the mom and pop places because they always rock!! Buying from CSUSA for 10 years, they never miss; more companies should follow the model CSUSA brings to the table.

How does that relate to carrier's????

I ordered a flat rate box from a supplyer on the east coast, received a conf. order the next morning and recieved the goods the next day "wednesday"WOW !, that was fast

I shipped 26 packages last week, everyone was delivered on time, I received 8 packages, everyone of them was on time. Out of the millions handled daily by the USPS and I will include the UPS, there are only a few screwed up.

It's life, no machine nor man is perfect, screw ups will happen. But you can bet we will complain about the mistake and forget the hundreds that were correct.

I wonder how many mistakes I made last week???

I was taught many years back that the only person that makes no mistakes is the one doing NOTHING. Congrats to the USPS, UPS and FED/EX.
Myself, wellll, on some days, I appear to be the only person wold wide doing anything!:eek:

I'm not down on USPS -- I use them almost exclusively for both domestic and international shipping. I just think it's kind of funny that the tracking on the two packages look about the same --- like it got sent out then returned, then just turned around and sent again.

I'd say that the comment is directly related to the OP's second sentence.

I had an instance where I had 2 LFRB's coming from the same person on the same day. One made it on time. One took a vacation to Costa Rica. It happens. My guess is most of the time the package may be late but it will come.

You're right...I overlooked the reference to CSUSA service included in the OP.
