Haven't posted a pen for a while. Got a rush of blood this week and made a pen using some opal chips my grandson gave me. He has an opal mine in the north of South Australia (desert country).

I used a gearshift kit, first cast the tube in black PR, turned it down as much as I dared, then laboriously glued the opal chips to it, then cast this in clear PR.

Opal is very hard to do justice to as you really have twist and turn to see all the colours.

Fred I admire and respect the design and manufacture of this pen, love it mate.a real gem (no pun intended).Using this random design kit was a beaut choice and the scrambled effect is dynamite IMHO.

Kind regards Peter.
